Anyone intrested in coming to help sort out my clutch?
Anyone intrested in coming to help sort out my clutch on a lazy Sunday, I'm currently in Forrest field at a diy workshop...
The problem I'm currently having is that the clutch is slipping while the car is idling, after having installed the new clutch and putting everything back together... Its a 6 speed, the clutch and the flywheel are the right ones, I've triple checked, mounted the clutch up to the flywheel on the bench to make sure and to test it, worked and looked good on the bench... Only thing I can think of is that I stuffed up when I was tightening the pressure plate up and managed to not tighten it up enough... Any help would be much appreciated and I can put on a few drinks for any one that Congress to help me work on it... Did you torque everything up with a torque wrench?
What sort of flywheel, pressure plate and clutch plate are u using? Bench test involves a proper clutch press. Lining up the dials and bolts doesn't mean it is the right clutch though. Also, is the clutch master and slave bled up properly? If u can check out the part numbers, remove the clutch kit and post some pics here or PM through, will gladly help ya. On a brighter note, it is nothing to worry about. Will be something simple. Hope it can be sorted out soon. |

Don't take it the wrong way but when you sum up all the time and money you wasted you could of booked the car at s technic or Evo R for a days swap and drive away hassle free.
Torque settings Flywheel bolts should be 75nm and torque in a star pattern Pressure plate to flywheel 16nm Gearbox to block 50nm |

The clutch is an xtreme heavy duty pressure plate, the clutch plate is an organic heavy duty plate, its a single plate clutch, the flywheel is a standard Sti flywheel which the clutch is designed to fit...
The clutch kit part number is ksu24001-1a and WA bought from covs Osborne park... I've never had this problem in the past, this time round its just been a nightmare... The clutch master and slave were bleed properly Every thing was torqued to the right specs using a torque wrench... Is there any freeplay at the slave cylinder pushrod? If theres a hdraulic problem, ie; the fluid can't return or the pushrod/fork combination is wrong for some reason it could hold the clutch in the released position. Firstly, before you remove thew box again remove the slave cylinder. If the clutch still slips you have a fault internal. Chance you fitted the clutch plate in back to front maybe?

when I had it all together, when I pushed on the clutch it would release the pressure on the clutch plate, but when I released the clutch pedal the clutch plate was spinning not clamping properly... But again with the slave removed it was doing the same... Sent from my GT-I9210T using Tapatalk 2 |
