Default What is high milage on a WRX?

Hi guys,
Looking at buying at 2004 STi (MY05). Car would be used mostly on weekends only.
Found a couple, particually one going fairly cheap but has 145xxxkms on the clock. Question is: what is considered "high milage" for that motor and what would i be looking at ($ wise) as far as rebuilds go etc.
Cheers

I'd look at service history and have the car checked out by a Subaru specialist like STechnic.

It is not like the engines let go at 150,000km on the dot. Will depend on servicing, tuning, mods etc as for the life of an engine.

145,000km on a 2004 car is 18,125km a year or 348km a week. Nothing excessive there are all.

It's not only just about engine life .. Everything else around the motor has done the same amount of mileage.... Some people might just say that's standard for servicing but it all adds up but I would say its fairly high kms.

145 is early days.

Or about to pop.

So many factors.

Mines 300km odd away from the 300,000km mark ('97 gc8) and still going strong *touch wood* if you service properly an not thrash the living sh*ts out of it I'm sure it will go forever!

Depends on how well it's been looked after, iv seen older gc modles with 300-400 thousand kms on the clock and they are clean as anything, on the other hand iv seem 05-06 modles with under 100000kms making noises and leaking. Make sure it has good service history.

An ej207(short block) from subaru will cost you roughly $2500-3000. With out fitting.forged rebuild with cams, turbo, computer and other goodies can differed greatly depending what is done and who does it
