Battery charger for 99 STI

Hi guys,

I am after a charger for my car that I can leave connected when its not being used, damn battery keeps going flat!

What would you recommend for a 99 STI?

Cheers,

Lawrence

Currently have my car on charge during the week (as it only gets used on the weekends now) using a CTek Charger.

The model I have, MXS 5.0 will set you back around $150.

I use one of these

Cheaper then the competition (ctex) and just as good IMO. Minus the size factor. As Im pretty sure the ctex have a plug and play style charger now. That i know atleast one member on here uses.

Comes with a harness that you can leave mounted to the battery for ease of use and also comes with another harness with clips on the end so that you can charge another battery or car.

ive got a "Battery Fighter Junior" on mine... cant remember where or how much for it but its small enough to look like a normal DC power pack. Good enough for a trickle feed but it wont charge a battery from dead, although 5 mins jumpered to another running car sorts that.

How quickly is it draining though? mine has gone 3 or 4 weeks and still turned over fine... maybe worth getting it checked out?

Just putting it out there, but if your battery Keeps going flat, don't you think it would be a wise idea to get someone to solve that problem for you instead of buying a batter charger

^^ exactly.

I drive my car on weekends mostly. Most of the time, it lives in the garage. I have never had an issue starting it... Just fix your alternator, get a new battery or find the source for why your battery is losing it charge! If a car battery can't hold it's charge for a week, there's a problem.

It goes flat only when left for a few weeks. I will get it checked at next service but I want to have a charger anyway.

Cheers for the advice :)
