MTA favor the mechanics generally. It will be tough getting anywhere but try calling consumer protection, they might not be able to help directly but will point you in the right direction. Refund or cancel service - Consumer Protection - Department of Commerce

I had some work done on a jetski at a popular shop that ended up being fucked. Left clamps loose, didn't replace bits they charged for, left tools in the engine compartment etc. Tried and didn't get very far.

Good luck.

Also, did you get any written quotes or sign any job sheets etc?? If it was all over the phone it will be even harder.

Assuming it is an intercooler job?
Good luck with getting it sorted, hate when shit like this happens and then we as the client have no control.....

hire tilt tray truck, retrieve car & tell them to bash thier bill, if they wish to take it further.... inform them you will be making threads on every perth based performance car forum informing them of shonky dealings of said workshop

Nah not intercooler mate.


Thanks all for advice... given me at least some things to consider... Though as the customer, I pretty much get the short end of the stick these days when it comes to workshops and their practices.
