Spotted a nice burgundy GC8 earlier this arvo on the way home [AM 49 WA]
Just a tip champ, a school crossing (as opposed to 40km/h school zone) means you drop your speed down to 50km/h, not mash the go pedal and slingshot it to 80 clicks in second gear. You penis.

Does it not actually mean you prepare to stop if the cross walk attendant comes onto the road?

That section of road is not 40 so no need to go 40, and Im yet to see a rule that says drop to 50 when the cross walk is operational.

Yes, when there is children crossing. I dont see any kids, but I am on phone and thus cant see well

Btw -

ROAD TRAFFIC CODE 2000 - REG 61 That is the road traffic act of 2000 with no mention of that - Could you get Chandresh to point it out.

Be a good learning if true.

Yeh TJ, I just looked at the codes myself. The reason I emailed Bayswater (about 2 months back) is because:

* last year get pulled over by cops at that crossing area for doing 55km/h. Pointed out that it was signed as 60km/h and was a crossing, not a zone (40km/h). Got told that you are meant to slow down to 50km/h in anticipation of having to stop. Was let go (I think only due to having my teacher badge on).

* every morning I go through there doing 50km/h, and one morning some bitch tailgated me through the crossing, beeping her horn. Pulled up alongside her outside my school (40km/h zone) and gave her a mouthful for being an impatient fuckwit.

* emailed Bayswater City Council for clarification.

I also remember being told to slow down at crossings by my driving instructor. Can't find any written record of it though!

Regardless, people shouldn't be upset at others being cautious and aware around school crossings. Dropping 10km/h over a distance of 200-300m is going to hold you up by what, 5-10 seconds? boo-fucking-hoo.

Even if the speed limit it 60km/h, it's 60, not 80. Ergo, driver of GC8 is still a polony smoker
