Granted that young people are less descreet (sometimes) then the older crowd when it comes to testing their cars but there is no way that you can just pick a age and say "if the owner is XX years old his car is a heap of shit."

I am 20 and have a 2012 MPS 3 with little over 4000KM on... obviously not shit.

One of my colleges, middle aged guy has a 2006 Hilux and I wouldn't take it for free because he has taken it off-road and never really raken care of it.

Very true, but there is going off road and then bush bashing... he does the second.
Also he doesn't check any fluids before or after and I don't think it has ever had a service within month and/or 5000KM of it's due date/milage.

True, I borrowed Toyota Prado (2010?) that was a dirt virgin and gave it a good run through some dirt tracks when I went up north. It's a great feeling to go anywhere

My first car was a 1994 DC2 Integra that had 195,000KM on the odo. But I polished the crap out of it, swapped the gearbox, motor, wheels, etc and made it like new (VTiR to TYPE R Spec) and it was my beauty and right up to the day I sold it people didn't beleive it was that old because their cars were only 1-2 years and were shit

99.999999% of the population do not have any passion for motor vehicles - they are a mechanical tool to be used and replaced.

Exactly with abit of elbow grease you can make alot of cars look really good.

mechanical idiots. About 10 years ago i had some twit trying to convince me his integra was turbocharged. I asked him to show me the turbos. He pointed to his waterpump (haahha which granted was shaped like a turbo) but i tried to get him to explain how the air from this turbo got to his pod filter open to atmosphere that went directly to the intake lol...... kodak moment expression on his face
