So this one is kinda aimed at any of the audio gurus in the group and anyone who has purchased / installed or tried one of the sub-woofer kits from Subaru. More specifically for the current model.

Chasing any experiences, secrets, horror stories etc.
I like my music in my car. Its the one thing I'm usually not scared to Mod for sound but purchasing a brand new car puts it in a different light.

So my options are:

1. try to use the factory head unit and wire in my own sub / amp set up (JL amps and twin 12 pro series subs)

2. have the dealer put in a the genuine factory sub-woofer kit which appears to fit nicely under the seat??

3. Go whole new set up from head unit back.
As you can imagine warranty, pulling apart car become factors in 1 and 3, so any thing would be appreciated.

Don't even bother with genuine subwoofer, for the price you pay it's not worth it!

What do they want for a gen subwoofer kit and whats available on the market within that price point.

I remember the premium deck for my XF Fairmont was around $1k to replace and there was so many 'much better', options available after market.

Then again would you have to factor any other pieces of equipment to run it?
