Default fyi-insurance

Did a search but couldn't find a thread on it specifically.

I am getting upgrades done to my car. Just found out from my insurer that as soon as an upgraded turbo goes on the car my insurance is null & void. In this case, vf34 instead of the tdo4.
You can put upgrades on your car, but turbo isn't one of them.
Car is going over the pitts reguardless after work finished on her.
Will have to change insurer. Recommendations appreciated.
I have a clean driving record too.
Cheers
Nat

Shannons. They love discussing mods lets alone insuring them.

P.S they may claim it is null and void but no industry body in this world would deny you a claim based on a turbo swap unless that swap you the direct cause of the accident you had.

Yep Shannon's. if they will insure my car with a full STI driveline swap I'm sure a turbo swap is no sweat.

Shannon's defs got the job!
Car getting motor upgrade too. Not just turbo. And some cosmetics :-D.
My current insurer won't cover it if it has vf34 under the guideline policy for their business.
All sorted now.

Glad to hear that it is all sorted!
Are you able to disclose who currently insures the vehicle in question?

Yes, I have no problem recommending them for anyone who has a stock vehicle. They actually had no problem with the motor upgrade. Just the turbo size.
Their Swann insurance. Very good to deal with & give the highest agreed value for the car. Have looked after me since I bought her very well.
