Default WRX cold air intake system

Hi there,

Better introduce myself I am new and have a couple of months ago bought a Subaru WRX 2006L 2.5 Turbo . Have added new tyres and rims, 3'' exhuast system and a tint.

I have just bought a new spoiler the STI 01-07 one. Anyone know any good body shops to fit it and a spray??

Also was thinking on upgrading to a cold air intake system to take the stock one out. Has anyone done this any problems or is it even worth doing??

Please help as I am new and also new to rexy engines

Cheers

Hi I have a stock air box and wondering how much better a upgrade to a cold air intake system will b compared to the standard air box?? I know some people put a hole where there spotlight is so the air gets sucked in from there and then straight to the air filter and to turbo, have many of use got that?

Hey mate. My two cents worth there is no point in putting a cold air intake in. It will give you no or very minimal power increse unless you are chasing massive power. Have a look at this video. Cold Air Intakes Mythbusted - YouTube. If you do decide to get it dont forget you are going to need a tune straight away otherwise it could cause problems. Most common intake mod i have found is deleting the resonator out of the inner guard. Hope this helps.

Cheers
Anthony

Does give "better" induction noise.

Imo, it will make a difference in gd & gc turbo cars. But u need a tune.

On gr/gv, technically cai wont do much. But my intake temp reading is up to 20c lower. Sth to think about.
