Just interested is all? I couldnt get positive boost by revving the engine.

the air flowing through the turbo from the engine revving spins the turbo up

meanwhile, the ecu retards the timing creating 'load' this in turn builds boost

thats my understanding of how launch control works

Somebody with more knowledge might be able to clarify further but I believe that a false load is entered into the tune to allow the turbo to boost? Hence why no boost is made when free revving the engine vs running launch control. I could have misunderstood the explanation from my tuner though

So that's what I was saying. The verso "launch control" is just a rev limit.

Real launch control retards timing etc to create load and build positive boost.

It generates about 10-12psi of boost.

Russ, It works. Even a bunky old Power FC will make boost at 0kmh if you lower the rev limit low enough and hold the throttle open.

Same thing on the flatshift, if the engine is over the clutch in rev limit when you upshift you can hold the throttle open and the ignition will cut as soon as the clutch is pressed. When the throttle stays open the engine won't go into vacuum, turbo stays lit up. No need for pop-bang antilag.
