2009 sti hatch exhaust?

So I am getting my sti rebuilt at the moment with forged pistons etc... I have ecutek and it it's going to be taken to max motorsports for a tune in the new year. So I am looking for a TBE for the hatch that's not to loud. Has anyone had experience with the TBE exhausts that mms make? Or is there a nice aftermarket one I can get that will not smash the budget to much? Any tips or advice would be great!

Check out ultrex performance ULTREX PERFORMANCE - BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK IN PERFORMANCE PARTS also cross compare supply/fit cost with Norm Butler.

Don't forget to factor in fitting costs when checking out the ultrex route.

You'll find most people on here will recommend a butler built exhaust which is what mms supply.

I got a quote of around the 2k mark for turbo back from mms. Just curious on whether that's the going rate

Yup. That's actually pretty cheap if it includes install?

I had a 3 Inc made for my 1200 ute a whole back and it was similar cost. Is there really much different from the ultrex ones? Like invidia etc? I would love to hear people opinions on the butler systems? I don't want anything to loud either

I'd be happy to drive you around the block in mine next time you're in Fremantle.. just PM me when you're ready.

I also made this video the day I got it.. phone spec.. Sounds a bit better than this now.

Hey mate, I have a 2010 hatch with a MMS exhaust on it and am pretty happy. Not too loud unless I stomp on it. Looks discreet (had 3" quads installed), doesn't drone on long trips when I've gone down south and got it over the pits the other day too, albeit with a warning that it's borderline and I could be pinged if I drive like a knob...

I can try uploading a quick clip for you

Thanks guys I appreciate it! I think I will just stick with the butler systems from
Mms. I have a Cobb cold air intake with ecutek installed already so figured May as well get my money's worth out of the tune if you know what I mean.

Basically I bought a 2009 sti and it smashed the ring lands in 2 cylinders within the week :( motor is being rebuilt at the moment with some new forged Mahle pistons, felpro head gaskets, arp head studs and genuine gAsket set all round :) also got a new competition stage 2 clutch from mms to be put in whilst the engine is out. It's all being done under warranty thankfully :)
