Default Subaru 2008 hatch taillight pricing?

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has managed to get hold of a set of tail lights for the 2008+ hatch from a wrecker etc? I have got a couple of quotes from wreckers fairly expensive for both tail lights complete.
Anyone else got a set at at reasonable price?

Basically I want to cut the lights open and paint the inside rather than run the vinyl overlays and or spraying the outside red. I would rather have a crack at them at a steady pace and still be able to drive the car whilst I undertake the project.

Or more importantly does anyone have some laying around they want to get rid of?

What exactly are you trying to achieve that overlays cannot?

When dealing with wreckers get a retail price first as you may sometimes be amazed 'it will also give you a reasonably arguable position', also check out private wreckers.

I just want a permanent solution to the fulgly rear tail lights. I have seen a good how to guide to spray the inside but you have to cut them open

As Trolley has suggested you can source overlays for a fraction of the cost of sourcing another set of tail lights.

Do a Google search for light overlays for your specific model, see what's available and save yourself the cost of sourcing an additional set of tail lights and the potential headache of taking them apart.

For example:

I have overlays at the moment but they only last a few years before the edges bubble up etc. Plus want something a bit nicer than the overlay

What was the price they quoted for what I am assuming was the side lights as well as the tail gate lights? Call Subaru Parts, quote your VIN, get a retail price, counter offer?
