2015 STi

As the name suggests, it's time for a 2015 STi thread.

Here's a link to the leaked photos of the new 2015 STi posted by Troy on PSR's facebook page.

I call it the SubEvo!

It looks ok, not a fan yet, but I think it will grow on me /us. :)

I'm just glad they did a bit of a better job than the WRX. ;)

Seems like 2015 will be that gap year again for Subaru where they find their feet again, like when they released the 2008 model then made adjustments in the years that followed to better it.

What model will you have the STi GSR or the STi MR :p

Tony 09-01-2014 09:56 AM

I reckon its going to be a fucking weapon.

RJ999 09-01-2014 10:03 AM

Yea could be too... keen to see the first drives, could be better than any other STis!

I was only talking looks above.

Hoping Subaru takes it back to Nuremberg with Makkinen to beat his Nurburgring lap in the fastest ever STi (2011) from factory. If they don't means they know something isn't quite right ;)

ALLPAWS 09-01-2014 10:03 AM

Looks a bit generic . . .better than fuggly tho :eusa_thin

DukeDrifter 09-01-2014 10:44 AM

Dump it put some crazy offset rims with dish and concave and we'll love it just like the ugly Betty.

Looks like it'll hook from the stats and will take a good amount of boost as well.

nauli 15-01-2014 09:43 AM

Not very exciting is it.....

RJ999 15-01-2014 09:44 AM

knew it...give it a year or two for Subaru to make a better car of this model...or wait another 3 years for the next model STi like people did a while back lol

There shall be no Nuremberg record breaking attempt with this barge either...

Agree with Steve's comment, not very exciting at all

Same 2.5L as the 2011-2013 sti. At least you know you can make good power from simple bolt ons, and everything should be compatible meaning no waiting on new aftermarket parts hopefully. That and a stiffer body should make it a decent package. I dont know why everyone is so quick to hate, its a pretty limited spec to be judging from.

Master D 15-01-2014 10:32 AM

I like the torque vectoring idea, shame it's only to the front wheels though, I thought it would have been to the rears :-/

DukeDrifter 15-01-2014 10:58 AM

The thing I was most excited about was to see them move on from the ej series motors and what they were going to do with the new fa in the Sti. Still no forged internals from factory I take it as well ?

DukeDrifter 15-01-2014 11:12 AM

Also wrx twinscroll Sti singlescroll ?

Tony 15-01-2014 11:44 AM
Also wrx twinscroll Sti singlescroll ?
This is my point, not enough info to pass judgement yet.

T-WRX 21-01-2014 08:04 PM

I can't quite put my finger on it! It promises to be great with the stiffer body and suspension, plus the power unit should be good too. But the looks... It doesn't look bad, and it doesn't look astounding either. The front end looks like a softened up Lancer Evo cross bred with a Volvo, with a bonnet scoop acting like a temporary tattoo on the otherwise bland front end. I don't dislike it, but I'm not overly enthusiastic either.

It looks a bit like a lancer, but has enough Subi DNA to be a great car. It's got a nice interior also I rekon...

The nose design makes it look like it has a big overhang at the front aka Volvo ,I still have one tho I'm sure the looks will grow on you :p

DAT Interior, I think im in love!

astralex 08-02-2014 12:07 PM

Interior looks too busy. Thumbs down.

Yorkie 08-02-2014 06:57 PM

I rekon the interior is the winner, the outside could have been a bit nicer. But I'd still take one if it was given to me! :p

I dont like the exterior.
reminds me of that wannabe WRX Kia

JRecardo 20-02-2014 03:28 PM

I don't mind the look to be honest, but I also drive an 08 Betty so I wouldn't listen to me.

Batman 20-02-2014 07:02 PM

I don't think it looks too bad, was kind of hoping the specs would be a bit more but still good none the less.

Tony 21-02-2014 09:03 AM

All the haters can eat dick.

Yorkie 21-02-2014 10:23 AM

I rekon it looks good

mitchwnz 21-02-2014 07:09 PM

Same shitty factory head unit... I'm going to call this a lazy effort by Subaru.

RJ999 21-02-2014 07:21 PM

That orange sti in the picture has a $5-10k widebody kit, been lowered, and aftermarket rims... thats to just start looking ok

Not hating but not liking either...pass

ThatLegend 21-02-2014 08:22 PM

They changed the fucking engine...

No signature rumble?

JRecardo 21-02-2014 08:25 PM
They changed the fucking engine...

WRX has gone to an FA engine and EL headers, so no rumble.

STi keeps EJ and rumble.

Its a photoshop btw haha.

astralex 21-02-2014 09:09 PM

Really? Would never have guessed.

Master D 21-02-2014 09:14 PM

I'm actually more interested in the WRX.

FA Engine, Twin Scroll and better body shape :-)

Wouldn't sneeze at the new STi though.

RJ999 21-02-2014 09:28 PM
Really? Would never have guessed.
Same

Sharpy.au 02-04-2014 06:27 PM

There's one of these at Subaru Osborne park already, supposedly the first in aus to have one. Weren't meant to be here for two weeks they say

RJ999 02-04-2014 06:30 PM

The one they been hiding under that canvas? Thought that was the wrx.

Time to test drive the STi then :D

Sharpy.au 02-04-2014 07:08 PM

Not that one na. It's an interesting story, they claim they picked it up this morning before Subaru Australia realised their mistake - they thought it was a wrx not the STi. They wouldn't let me drive it as apparently it's not in the rego system yet so isn't registered and can't be properly insured yet. I would of thought dealer plates would work but who knows. They couldn't even tell me a price or options on it as they don't know yet. 2 or 3 weeks away supposedly

Seems odd and a massive cock up if Subaru Australia did confuse the model like they say

thehowlfactor 02-04-2014 07:27 PM

Doesn't say much for the STI if Subaru Australia think it looks just like a WRX.

Interesting i thought.

Put through its paces properly, this video isn't Subaru approved.
