I have noticed a fair bit of this lately. People selling GC8 WRXs with STi body kits and labeling them as "STi's".
Is this a new thing? Just hope some poor person gets taken for a ride.

I did once pay $300 for a WRX intercooler with STi sprayed on it, shows how naive people can be when starting out with rex's. I wouldn't have known an STi from a WRX if it all looked the same when I was first looking at bugs.

I don't think its anything new though, I have seen a few advertised wrongly when browsing.

Where in that ad does it state that it's and STi ? Unless the name of the Ad has changed as your hyperlink says STi but the Ad does not now.

It said STI yesterday when I looked at it. Both the title and description.

A GC8 sti intercooler is a wrc cooler with sti on it

It wasn't from a GC8, it was from a bug.

It sits on a shelf in my garage now, so it's become an ornament. Not entirely to waste :D
