Gen 4 Liberty 3.0 owners?

Anyone here own a 3.0 - regardless of spec?

Ownership experiences?

I am thinking of going sensible-ish for a daily.

Dan [GTI] 18-02-2014 11:58 PM

More sensible then a Lexus :p Not as good a car as you first thought?

On topic: Have driven a H6 STI Tuned Liberty, and even though it was auto it was far from a slow and was actually very easy/lazy car to drive.

Lexus has always been intended to be a temp thing.

I knew the Forri was going and that work was ending and that there would something of a gap.

Dan [GTI] 19-02-2014 01:11 AM

Fair enough. Wouldn't be tempted to find a nice GT Lib?

Yes except for the last line where "it has slight engine noise"

Ive seen whats out there, just want to hear what owners think, and maybe even go for a spin.

GT is an option, but I just know it will lead to mods.

I get the feeling a n/a EJ will cause me boredom and selling very quickly.

Late night reading... missed the Dok Dok line

Lib GT will lead to Scary-Spec build

yeah just sold one actually, had it for 4 years - something of a record for me

let me think, in the time I had it the only thing that went wrong was a drivers side wheel bearing and a new battery - 120,000kms

they're decent on fuel, you can chuck them around nicely and the flappy paddles in the premo make roundabouts a bit of fun

I think they make a great daily

Nah, it wont. Scary and I are on slightly differing budget scales.

"slightly"

the 3.0 from what I understand has worse fuel economy than the GT and less power.

I would look at a 2.5T and don't mess with it to get best of both or just an exhaust and flash tune (then maybe add a bigger turbo etc etc)

3.0 is as reliable as any other non modified Subaru - will run forever with minimal drama

American Dave 19-02-2014 09:15 AM

Teejay you will own the 3.0 for 1 week and then be bored with it.
I agree with Scary.....for once
