Hey lads,

Just came across a 2006 Subi STI for sale here in Mt. Hawthorn near my work. It's in seemingly pretty mint condition, has 140,400 kms on the clock. Only mods the dealership tells me is it's been lowered, has an exhaust system and shiny new black rims. Tyres are new also.

Now here's why I'm suspicious...they want $19,990 for it. Seems very low and too good to be true!

Anything I should look out for in particular? It doesn't have a blow off valve, service history checks out.

Get it checked out by a specialist like Stechnic if you're worried.

there are a few pigs of that model around perth, pardon the pun, just make sure you fully check it out, check for any dodge habibi stylez repairz

EJ257's were reknowed for their self destructing capabilities, check for burning oil clouds on boost

Try to find out as much of the ownership history as possible. Look for signs of dodgy mods. If there's any indication it's been tracked then I'd be getting stechnic to do an inspection.

I may be wrong but most likely it's an accident repair if its at one of those imdependent car yards... generally cars that AHG wont take end up there.

If you're interested get it checked by STechnic.

Just to give you an idea, saw an 06 STi at subaru osborne park today with 145000kms for $29000.

Yeah definitely want to get it looked at, where's STechnic? Going to have a thorough look at service history. It looks very neat and tidy.

STechnic is in maddington...Call up 9493 5559 and ask for Doug...ask him if he will do a pre purchase assessment...at the yard tell them you will get it assessed by your mechanic prior to agreeing to purchase.

Ok, I'm going to have a proper look this week and see how it drives. I'm pretty suspicious, but if it's legit I'm pretty keen to snap it up. Will definitely get it inspected before making any offers
