Default Water leaking into the boot area (MY99 GC8)

I was wondering if anyone can possibly help me. I am going mad as after it rains the well area in MY99 GC8 where the tyre jack sits in fills with water.
I first noticed mould in the boot area and replaced the boot seal as it looked a little shabby. I've pulled out the tail light and siliconed around it and still the bloody water can be found.
Does anybody have any ideas as I'm going mad !!!

Mine does it too. Check seals around spoiler and rubber lip that's around the boot. If they're original parts they will be old, hard and shitty. I just leave a towel in the spare wheel well to soak it up, but my cars in the workshop most of the year so it isn't too much of a worry

Has the car been rear ended before? If the quarter doesn't line up with the boot correctly the seal won't do it's job and water will make its way in.

Shove your missus in the boot, close the lid, and get her to tell you if she can see any light coming through.

Then go have a beer for all your hard work

Patch: I'm thinking it may have been rear ended in its past life!!!
Jezza: You know what, I did mention this to my wife a couple of months ago as I thought it was a logical idea and she told me I was a bloody idiot !!!

That's it, I'm off to grab the beers !!!

I had a friend who had a similar problem, and I'm sure we found some kind of vents on the inside of the C pillar or to the wheel arch, or something? I'll see him at work tomorrow night, I'll pose the query to him then.
