Toyota 86 to go AWD turbo

Not sure if this has already been posted but here it is just in case... Does this mean they will do this with the BRZ too?

they are kinda missing the point

want all wheel drive, buy a wrx

rear wheel, cheap, turbo car is what the market needs

Why would they replace the more superior FA engine with outdated EJ anyway? Its not true? FA 20 DIT is more likely imo.

Why would Subaru provide an engine to a rival that would outperform its premium performance car?

Not going to happen regardless of fitting the EJ motor which has been discussed admin forum since the 86/BRZ concept was first touted.

I think it's keeping it's manufacturing going of 257 (old stock) a bit for Toyota.. my crystal ball thinks subie will trump with a new di sti motor probably not long after..

I tend to agree with the cheap rear wheel drive turbo instead of awd turbo the market is saturated with wrx's and evo's although I may be biased as a Silvia fan boy

Think the 86/BRZ line served its purpose but the market for those cars has since dried up. As GTB suggested, highly doubt they will go ahead with any AWD + engine setup that will rival the wrx/sti/evo market.

They just need to release a premium model of the 86.

Turbo/supercharged (around 175-200kW atw will go like a shower shit)
RWD
Better suspension
Better tyres
Better brakes

how you going
