valentine aint much better. Hasnt got much more to justify the extra $$$ plus laser detection is supposedly way better on the valentines, but with laser the way it is your lucky if you get an extra few metres. Plus with the constant software upgrades the V1 gets you have to send it back to the US each time.

Huy, your doing the right thing by mounting low, just possible the ninja isnt that strong or its not as sensitive, play around with the modes and try tuning or narrowing the bands to just the frequencies that are scanned, if its possible to do that with the ninja.

the only gains you get from mounting high are laser detection, but by then your a goner anyway.

I hardly even put it up, but i went past a few camera's today, and kept making u-turns to see which mode/height was the best haha. Picked it up about 40m away (with the detector mounted low), so i dunno, i guess it's also dependant on how the camera is setup. Usually it warns me late, but today was different.
And i think the guy noticed me the 3rd time...Time to go!

All the current radar detectors are detectable except the Bel STi, however I have read reports that the new radar detector detectors can pick up on the Bel STi as well...

Even if you have an undetectable one, if the laws come in to WA (remember they keep mentioning this every few years...) if its the same as over east, if the cops think you have a detector, they can search your car for it. So if you get speed checked and hit the brakes suddenly, woosho, car search time.

I'm currently running a RX65. Great little unit, picks up the K band units kilometers away, gives a good 100m for Ka (multanova) but I am yet to get a laser ping Despite going through quite a few laser traps.

Interesting how you guys are mounting your units low as I have mine above the rearview mirror. From the tests that I have done this seemed the best spot for picking up multanovas.

Anyway, just remember that a radar detector is not a license to speed. I see so many ppl who get one and flog it everywhere, then claim they are crap because they get caught.

Hopefully that all made sense... Damn sunday sessions

Ive got the RX65 and I have it mounted up next to my rear view mirror... as do most ppl I know... (dunno why..thats just where Dan put it lol) and it seems to work ok..

funny thing is that since I bought the damn thing I cant find any cameras to test it out on ! Rarely falses but I have K turned off when just driving around town...

Depends how they set the camera up too I think.. sometimes it gives me alot of warning (esp when there is no traffic in front of me) other times the damn thing only beeps when im going past the camera.

For country driving its mintox... easily paid for itself within the first trip. !
