Default Noise from passenger side of motor

I picked up my 06 WRX yesterday took her home chnaged oil coolant etc

I know the 2.5 boxer motors are noisy but there is a tick which is pretty consistant with rpm going to try to get it checked in the next few days...

Powers great comes on boost fine and idles smooth.

any thoughts?

Sounds like the tappets.
Add in a thicker oil and some addition additive with the oil called "lifter free". If it gets quieter it's them.

1. Adding thicker oil only masks a problem

2. Post RS liberty Subaru motors do not use hydraulic 'lifters' - they use solid valve buckets or a bucket & shim to set the valve lash.

Take it to a shop & get it checked out - the 'advice' from Stewy is hogwash.......unless there's a Holden or Ford 6 in your Subi...

Fuel pump?
The clicking from a fuel pump carries thru the metal lines so it is hard to pinpoint the real source.

Subaru/walbro/Bosch fuel pumps are Geo-rotor designs, make a swishing or feint buzzing sound through the fuel lines, you wouldn't hear it over engine bay noise.
