Default Retune Required?

I have a Verso tune from ASG, the car has a turbo back exhaust, bov and cai. I'm going back to a factory intake with an upgraded panel filter and a recirculating bov from a hks ssq.

Will I need/should I have the car retuned with the changes?

It's one of those things mate. Some people will tell you it isn't necessary, some won't. I always thought it wasn't necessary but after losing a motor recently to detonation I now err on the side of caution and will religiously get a retune after changing any part of the intake or exhaust system.
Patch and SUAVERNETT like this.

Similar question, re: retune.

6 speed swap, stupid question? - But is a re-tune required or recommended? I can't think of any simple reasons as to why, but may be some more technical ones as to why it's recommended.

Difference mainly being gear ratios i guess - but for the most part I would have thought the ECU would have the smarts to compensate on engine loading/RPM as required.

Everything I have read & asked about regarding the swap. No Retune is required..

If your going from Auto to manual you just need the manual computer. But going from 5 to 6 speed then no.

Check this, I am on the belief the ECU's are the same and have a pin that is grounded to switch from MT to AT (or AT to MT, one of the two)...

I put a 6 speed into my 02 WRX last year. At the time I didn't get it tuned and had no dramas. Although I just had a tune done fuel to some other mods and got an extra 70kw. Not sure what effect the 6 speed had on that, none I imagine. Great gearbox though.
