99 door locks
Hey all,
Does anyone know if there is meant to be a lock actuator in the drivers door of the 99 WRX's? You open the drivers door and all doors open. Been mucking around with the central locking and about to put an after market system in and there isn't one in the drivers door. Just wondering if that's normal or not? Cheers |
From what I can recall, the actuator is in the drivers footwell or up next to the steering column.
|
Under the dash near the column is the door control unit. Might be what you mean.
I'm wondering if there is meant to be the motor itself in the door or not. If so I'll try chase one from a wrecker. If not I'll find any after market motor and fit it. |

Here is a diagram I have on my PC...
#7 is the lock actuator inside the door I am not sure if the central locking was standard on all models, or if it was only on a select few |
Hmmm guess I need to see if I can find a door with one in it.
Remote central locking wasn't standard but I believe the central locking was |
I'll have one I reckon.

You have everything lol

On mine the drivers door lock is operated by the key but it unlocks all the other doors. So it wouldn't have a solenoid there because it's operated directly by the key.
|
Hahaha I'll pull the door skin off tomorrow and have a geez.

Yep that's because it doesn't have the motor actuator in the door like mine. In order to make keyless entry useful you'd need what in chasing. Keyless on 3 doors isn't helpful haha |
