Default Invidia N1 Race Exhaust

Hey guys. Sorry if this has been answered before (I did try searching really! ).

But I am looking to buy the Invidia N1 Race (without the resonator in mid-pipe) and was just wondering if this will still be legal sound and emission wise accompanied with a catted down pipe?

I know that some people do have the Invidia N1 Street version but was not sure about the Race version.

Thanks for the wisdom in advance

Not legal sound wise.

Might be legal emissions wise, no idea.

^What he said - but I have the Race version and absolutely love it
Take this into consideration before sporting the full race version:-
1 - It will bleed pedestrian eardrums
2 - Its sexy as if you like a very angry and aggressive sound....but loud as
3 - You will have to baby/granny/supersnailpace it when driving past cops(well under 2k rpm)
4 - Your whole neighborhood will absolutely hate you and your street will be woken up every time you start/warm up your car.
5 - At night when the hood's quiet, if there are cops several blocks away and you give it some WOT they will come for you as they'll hear you
5 - Your housemates may want to kill you if they do night shifts for work
6 - If you can't stand NVH or drone on the freeway, then don't do it.
7 - If all that is ok then do it, I love it, but if you have a car that looks sticker worthy I wouldn't do it as it will attract attention.

Also note that I have the USA Invidia N1 from Downpipe to Cannon and that it's louder than just sporting the racing unresonated Catback on another downpipe, I was told it's something to do with the split bellmouth design and positioning of the hi-flow cat/number of cells. Emissions legal - ahemmm no comments. The AU version downpipe isn't a split bellmouth design, but the Cat Back part is the same unresonated one.
USA version dp will fit only STi
AU version dp will fit both WRX and STi

If you're using the unresonated racing cat back on your stock downpipe it won't be loud and emissions will be same as stock.
Hope this helps.

I have the Invidia N1 catback (cannon & hot dog resonator only) custom dump/front pipe with a test pipe(+interchangeable cat)

On idle its not that loud but WOT it very loud, I have twinscroll header & turbo

Nothing was as loud as my straight pipes

Thanks for the response guys. I do do some early shift starts at like 5am but I heard that these come with a silencer you can clip on? I like loud (especially when I'm on WOT), but I'm not sure if any other exhausts might suit me for the same price anyway.

I'll probably be using the stock DP at first (I know TBE is better) but depending on how long I want to keep the car for I might get a catted DP.

EDIT: I'm also on Ps so I guess I need to be extra careful too D:

The street version catback will be plenty loud, and when you change the downpipe later it will be even louder. The race version Invidia N1 catback is another level of loud, definitely not recommended on your Ps. Like Rexxar mentioned above, he has the street version with the resonator in the midpipe and its plenty loud.

Cheers. I'll have a think about it. I think I might be able to get away with it with a stock downpipe and I guess I'll just keep the RPM low when I see cops. Either that or I'll get a Cobb which I didn't really want because its more expensive

Thanks again for being helpful as always guys.

Have you thought about the varex exhaust by xforce?
Ive had mine for a year and had no issues besides replacing the battery in the remote but going to get it hard wired soon.
Very handy if your on nightshift and don't feel like making your neighbours hate you
