2009 WRX - Recommended Handling Mods

After some advice about handling mods for my 2009 WRX.

Goals: bit lower, stiffer, less roll, less understeer, decent ride quality for a daily driver and 100% street use (and wife already complains). Leaning towards lowering springs rather than coilovers mainly due to cost. Need a setup that will not cause rubbing with my 18x8 (+50mm offset) wheels with 235/40 tyres.

Budget: $1k give or take

1. Which Springs?

Currently looking at RCE regular guy black springs (read these have a pretty good ride quality still?)

2. Sway bars and which size?

Currently looking at this front and rear whiteline package which also comes with end links: Whiteline BSK011 Front & Rear Sway bar - vehicle kit (are the sizes in this kit the best way to go to reduce understeer?)

Is it worthwhile also getting the rear brace?: Whiteline KBR15 Brace - sway bar mount support

3. Anything else recommended?

My lower control arm bushings are split so was thinking of getting the antilift kit: Whiteline KCA334 Control arm - lower inner rear bushing (anti-lift/caster correction)

If/when I change springs on my '08 I will probably look at Eibach
I have ALK and 24mm front sway, 22mm rear sway. Get the multi-point adjustable whiteline ones... from memory I have 3 points on the rear (soft, medium, hard), 2 on front (soft, hard). I have the front on the softer setting, and rear on medium (had hard, but arse end tended to lost it a bit too easy).

I think im going to replace my struts when i get new springs. Seems like its pretty necessary from what i have been reading.

They recommend gtworx/bilsteins in the us forums. What do people recommend here?

I have driven a car that had them, they are a very nice bit of kit!
Just a pain to source (no one in Australia can get them) and if you go direct to Myles, the AUD/USD conversion will hurt.

I have seen them pop up for sale as second hand goods in the Eastern States from time to time.

The Whiteline KBR15 Brace will be included in the BSK011 kit because its a part of the BSR49XZ kit which is included.

In terms of bracing get the KSB723 carmods has it for $206 on special or whiteline strut tower for 186

WL h brace block tranny drain plug on 6 speed. U might wanna look into it for ur wrx.

Personally I would go cusco. It has better welding and come with control arm to chassis support plate, where WL charges $100 for:confused:

Rhd japan is so difficult to navigate looking for the right parts even searching with the part numbers.

I recently installed group N engine and transmission mounts. Quite surprised at the added steering precision that they have contributed.
