VF35 or VF34 secondhand, How much they going for?
Whats a good price to pay for a VF34 or VF35 bolt on turbo for my wrx?
There is a VF35 for sale for $500. New the VF35 are like 1,200 on Ebay. Ideas? Thanks |

being an old turbo, I think the general condition would probably be the biggest factor. $500 maybe for a low milage ...no shaft play and very good condition vf35...slightly more for vf34.
problem i'm finding asking around is that non of the turbo reconditioning places that I've called actually stock parts for the VF series turbos and I don't know whether they can be rebuilt either. for 1.2k probably better off getting one of the TD from gtpumps |

Yeah, meant to be only 80xxxkm and no sharft play.
Just after a turbo that's better than my Td04, before I go to get a tune. |

Go for a 34 over a 35 you wont have regrets later these come up second hand quite often too for 500-700 bucks in great condition . The vf35 is designed for group N rally etc ... on spec C models . It has the same compressor as a VF 34 but a tiny p14 exhaust housing pretty much the same size as the housing on a TD04L.
This gives great response and midrange but still dies in the ass hi mid to top end like the TD04L. Is it better yes but the 34 will pull on a stock car right through the rev range and out perform a 35 everywhere except Lag time off initial spool . The 34 will suit most peoples mod level for a long time where as the 35 will leave you wanting more quite quickly . Be aware though 90% of the VF35/34 turbos are getting quite long in the tooth and springing for a new one or alternative TD05H 18g or Blouch or garret may actually save you money and time in the long run . Really think about what your end goals will be with the car . If its over 300 hp ATW dont waste your money on a VF . Last edited by amtrapid; 22-10-2015 at 05:28 PM. |

Thanks heaps for that info, really helps.
With my built looking for around 160-180kws at the wheels. So I think the VF34 would suit my needs, I happy with the TD04, but if im getting a tune, may as well do it in one go, rather they paying for another tune in 12 months time. Lol |

The other option is to look at a newer twin scroll VF turbo but by the time you buy it and the headers sump etc you could have a new 34 or TD05 based turbo. The compressor technology on newer turbos is so much better then the VF34 tech as well . |
