All the best Daz. It was nice meeting you. And a loss for the community to see you go. Its a shame it turned out like this. I can imagine how hard it would be to bring your whole life and family across to the other side if the world, and then have to do it all again. Keep us up to date with your car builds. Whenever your involv3d in a car build, it makes for an interesting story. See ya mate.

Thanks mate, was looking forward to doing some sprints with you but obviously wasn't meant to be

I'll be checking in from time to time to see how everyone is getting on.

My two door GC Race car build is next on the list. I may do a thread on it haven't even thought about all that yet.

Good luck with the changes you're making to yours.

Who knows I may even be back in a couple of years.

Take it easy man.

Hope you do keep us updated Daz. Just copy paste whatever you put on your UK forums. I know we'd all appreciate it.

This thread has 10k views, and don't know how many your old thread had but it was certainly much more than this. People are reading it...

All the best in the UK. Come back when you get sick of the weather (again).

So i've been back in the UK for a few months now. The car made it here OK and I've done around 5000 miles in it since it arrived. It's been absolutely faultless until the other day.

Drove round to a mates house without issue and when I got in it to start it up the clutch pedal just hit the floor. No pressure whatsoever.

So I popped the bonnet to see the clutch fluid empty.
As I have a Push type twin plate clutch it uses a hydraulic throw out bearing.
I refilled the fluid, bled the clutch and it was good to go. However I now have a leak somewhere.

So I've managed to get a replacement bearing. A friend of mine had the RCM Kit surplus to requirements. So when that turns up next week its down to my mates garage to use his two poster to take the gearbox off and see what's going on.

Here's the offending item.

This was the first picture of it after I collected it this side of the world.

Will update the thread once i've sorted the clutch out.

That concentric slave cylinder. Is it actually needed on the clutch you use, or like some sort of upgrade item. What are the benifits of using one if its solely an upgrade? All i see i a PITA when it does go bad. Haha.

My work ute has a similar slave cylinder and that let go at one stage.

It gives a much better feel than the mechanical conversion that's also available.
Feels like a stock clutch and with the twin plate being quite grabby it gives me far better control over the biting point.
I was really wary when I first saw the clutch as the plates are completely unsprung so I thought it would be horrible to drive. It's actually the best clutch I've ever used. My only complaint is that it's a noisy bloody thing.
