Default inlet manifold pipe ..not rex but GT Forester ..read

hi guys
My Forester GT MY99 was hesitating and spluttering when i accelerated it wasnt doing it all the time to start with but then it started too worsen i checked turbo intake manifold pipe and it was really split were it connects too the turbo.
i took out the manifold inlet pipe with out having too take of the manifold anyway i ordered one got it all good bit pricey but yeah ,i couldn't install it as didn't really know were to start and have had major back surgerys so pain got the better of me so got a mobile mechanic to install it south of river were upon this cost me $900 because it took 2 days ,,20 hours to install ?? :?: WTF..... plus 60 for first time he came out plus 95 to get it too him...... the problem is still not 100% solved
any help please Any guidance

Mate that sux is all I can say to that. I can only recommend one thing seeing as you are south of the river take it to S technic what they don't know about subies ain't worth knowing. They are at 63 Bickley st Cannington.

20 hours is rubbish...the job shouldn't take more than a couple of hours....who is this "mechanic"....obviously not a Subaru specialist...maybe name him so others can avoid. As above, take it to S-Technic or Maximum Motorsport...both are SOR.
