09 wrx

Hey all, i'm looking for some advice and apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge. I currently have a 02 wrx and plan to get a 09 wrx. So Just curious what people think of it and what faults stand out.

Also I have a couple of questions.

I manage to drive a my16 impeza when i had my wrx in the shop so i had a chance to see how much they updated there car.

First is the stereo I heard not much good about the stock standards and would plan to swap it out anyways, I would prefer a stereo that would work with the steering wheel and it would be a Pioneer deck, so is the steering wheel compatible with other brands? or is it worthless.

The steering wheel in the my16 impeza felt so cheap! just wondering is that the same for the 09 wrx models as they look the same? as in the 02 wrx is a momo steering wheel and feels great, otherwise would it be worth swapping out the momo into the 09 wrx?

last but not least pin pad immobilizer a lots of people have a sad about the brants, i wont because my 02 wrx was pinched and all they could do is push the car up to the corner of the street because they could not start it, which means i want one in the 09 wrx, so is there any known issues why it couldn't be installed?

Thanks in advance

The steering wheel is compatible with other brands of head units, you may require a steering wheel controller to interface between the aftermarket headunit and steering wheel.
I had a Pioneer HU working in my old car, MY11 WRX.

Haven't attempted this but I'll take a stab that it won't be possible.
There will most likely be differences between the two steering wheels, the air bag most likely won't fit the other steering wheel and it may not be possible to have the old bag interface to the newer air bag control system.
If you wanted to change the steering wheel, it may be best swapping it out for an aftermarket unit that is made to fit, i.e. DAMD, Prova, etc.

The 08 onwards actually has a keypad which is found on the flap where the fuses are found under the dash (right hand side under the steering column trim).
They dealership can enable a PIN code to start the car, however they did recommend not doing this when I had my previous cars.
