Default upgrades brakes guard rolling and varex

Gday i have a my06 wrx did a track day down collie last month ended up cooking my brakes they are standard have aftermarket slotted rotors not sure what pads but I dont think they are great any tips on what ones to swap them out with as they seem to not be gripping that well now? I have replaced the brake fluid and its still shitty. Also need my guards rolled as they were rubbing I looked up the mechanical pages all the threads seemed a bit old im cockburn way so somewhere local would be great.

Also anyone know where I could get a varex muffler im getting the runaround with my local supplier cheers friends

If you plan on more track days I would suggest a set of DBS 5000 two piece rotors, some good quality brake fluid (full system flush) and a set of appropriate pads...options include Pagid RS4-2 or 19, Ferodo DS2500 or various PMU. Maybe check with a few workshops SOR...eg Maximum Motorsport, STechnic.....Varex muffler...no idea. Maybe talk to Genie Performance Exhausts in Myaree.

The Forza Fr6 front pads I have been using for a while now are a very good track pad which can still be street driven. They are very reasonably priced, around $280 landed from Greg at GSL - brakes direct.

I came off a set of Pagid yellows before these so they were big shoes to fill as the pagids were outstanding at the track but very expensive.

I'm selling a set of brand new Winmax W5 pads if your keen. $180. Only selling due to upgrading my calipers.

Also while your upgrading you might as well add some braided brake lines to your list. Improve the pedal feel.

WinMax W5 are pretty good. I have previously been running Ferodo DS2500 and switched to the W5s and they seem like a slight improvement (better initial bite and less prone to getting glazed in my experience). But they do eat discs when they are cold, I haven't been that impressed with the life of my DBA5000 two peice discs. I mean they are definitly good, just not sure if they are worth the cost. Have gone back to standard subaru discs for now.

Dean from maximum recomended winmax w5, I have used them for the last 2 seasons of McRae sprints and targa west 2016, no complaints from me so see no need to change for this years targa west. Admittedly I don't have the fastest car but they do what's asked of them 👍
