Slow down

Its it just me or does the WRX slow down after a while of owning it. I put the VF34 on and it went fast

I put an ECUTek on and that seemed to slow it down, not according to the tuner though.

So I looked harder at the car and yes I was forced to believe the tuner, it was faster (still believe it to be slower, dont tell the tuner)

So after a couple of weeks the car just doesnt feel fast anymore.

Is the car slowing down or is it just the bug biting and telling me to mod it some more.

Come to think of it I should have just gone a STI

Nah get a Autronics and feel the diffrence plus it does fell like wrxs arnt that fast coz of the awd thinggy..
Whos the Tunner??? :icon_axe:

mainly it wont feel that fast because of the tune... when the car is modified and not tuned the boost will be laggy and very erratic however once tuned they try smooth all this out... also before your car mighta been runnin lean meaning it will make more power and go faster but not last as long :P however now that should all be fixed up!

What he said, you will find your holding boost for alot longer, the car should be plenty faster.
Post up your dyno sheets from before and after tune.

Yes you should have gone the STi!

I got the tune done at MMS and I cant think of the name of the bloke who did it. It was only the ECutek 2 installed so no dyno's to post up

Often when you get a good tune the boost comes on earlier and smoother and makes it feel slower. But its much better than late boost on the same turbo with a big kick in the pants that feels fast but really isnt.

Yeh I wasn't overly happy with Tek2 either, so took it to RT for tune and very happy with the results!

what was the extra cost from the Tek 2 to your tune?/

You car seems slower because you are getting used to it. I was the same.
When I first got my WRX it was dang quick. But now I am simply used to it.

I have a mate who got an R1 and has the same problem. His R1 now feels
slow, and my WRX feels like a slug to him. My GF is a flight-attendant and
when she first started the G's the plane pulled on take-off felt strong. Now
they feel like nothing as she has been getting used to it over a few months.

Basically your perception of "quick" or "fast" has changed. That rush you get
when you first drive a WRX is an addiction, and like any addiction you need
more and more to satisfy your hunger. Just like a drug addict needs more
drugs, you need more mods to set the bar higher and get that feeling back.

Let the addiction begin. Is there any sort of rehab center for WRX owners ?
