Headlights....shed me some lights =)

I was wondering if u guys could shed some light...

i was talking to this guy who is selling his car and 01 wrx.
he rekons that you could change the headlights of the 01 and replace them with the 03 headlights with some minor modifcations...how true is this?

i can see some resemblemce and some possiblities, but i havent been sold about the idea yet...

anyone heard or seen?

Not so minor from what I've heard, others will clarify but I think its in the 1000's of dollars. ;)

You could probably do a front-end transplant (i've heard of this happen before) but as jan said... thousands... basicly you need the front fenders, front bar, grill etc, (i think bonnet aswell) and even then it's not a straight fit, i think there is the need for some modification to make it fit, so... possibly able to be done, practical ... hahah not in the slightest...

Cheers,

SiriX

your cheapest option for changing lights in the bugeyes is an aftermarket option. MRT Performance used to sell them, but dont anymore (ive asked)

chargespeed do a conversion kit.. couldnt find a link on their site.. but here

be prepared to pay a packet.. maybe cheaper to sell and buy a peanut eye ;)

^^^the kit should be straight bolt on, same with any factory parts i would think as they are all GD series..

yeah as above they are correct , fenders, bonnet, bumper, grill,

and there are still about 3 options out there for head light changes on the bug eye.

Just modify the existing assembly (I can help you do this), paint bits and pieces of it....looks very nice!

Or...

STi headlights, of the prodrive spec projector lights (just like on Tims car - see avatar).
