Default Insurance - STI vs WRX

Hi I know there has been threads on insurance before but I am just trying to get a feel for the difference in insurance between the normal WRX and the STI. I understand insuring a stock base model WRX is around 1000 a year with NCB. What are members here paying to insure their STI's???

Nick

Insurance premium for MY06 STI is $1100 year and I am over 25 (easily) and have no lose of licence or dui offences.

Your easiest bet to find out pricing is to visit there website... Most Insurers such as Just Car (justcar.com.au) have online quotation guides which will tell you how much your premiums will be.

I only pay $1122 a year with HBF and I have lost my licence for points and dui (more than 5 years ago though so no need to disclose). 06 STi. SGIO wouldn't even look at me because I am under 30.
I have all my mods declared to.

there is no set rate for insuring specific types of vehicles. each customer is rated individually depending on driving history, claims history, age, gender, place of residence and type of vehicle to name a few. Best advise i could give is shop around.

MY06 STI <25yo and listed as 15% driver = $1700.

That's through Swann insurance, check em out if you are buying new from a dealer.

You'll find that Just Car have massive excesses but will insure anyone.
HBF, SGIO, Shannons, etc (those kind of companies) may not insure you if youre under 25 (some places want you to be 30 or above).

Do your homework and call around - It's the only way you wont get jipped.
