their transfer fees are like 1/3rd of what we have to pay here
how do i do the vehicle transfer into my name in that state instead of here

obviously it's about another grand for transport to here too

Iam also wondering these to, do we pay the stamp duty here in Wa or there it's a bit confusing for me, can anyone here who have an experience tell us :) thanks wombat :P.
oh yeah buy TnT transport around $900ish near $1k include insurance and that's depo to depo about a week i think, that's the safest one man, even TnT still not carefull when taking cars, my mate had sti transfered from nsw and they damaged the front bumper but quickly sorted out

You will only pay s/d on the purchase price of the car in the state you purchased it!

All you will have to pay for is taking it over the pits and plate change.

The best bit is you can hand in teh orig plates and get a prorata refund of the rego

hope it helps

I always thought you had to still pay for stamp duty when you transfer the car under your name here in WA.

the stamp duty is payable on the purchase price, if you own the car you dont have to pay it!

if the car isnt licenced you will have to pay it at the purchace state and the licencing state

...fcuking government double taxing people!!! We pay GST on stamp duty thats tax on tax thats fcuking illegal! sorry off topic....i hate the level of taxation in this country!

try ringing NSW licencing department and clear it up once and for all....

BTW, can you let us all know the outcome?

cheers,

sold my previous car to a buyer in SA. they pay stamp duty there. also shipping cost with tnt was ~$240 (depot to depot). also try AusCar Trans.
hope that helps.
