hey all got no decent offers on my wheels, so im gunna fit them, just wondering what size tyres to fit on gc8 wrx with the above rims.
I remember a few years back when i had my gc8 wagon with the same wheels the standard sti tyres rubbed on the rear struts. This was with super low springs
what’s the stock tyre size on 03 sti ?(cant remember if they were 225's)
any1 with experience with these wheels on gc8 think 215/45/17 fit without rubbing ?

the wheels will just be for street driving, was hoping to get some fairly cheap tyres on the rims and save money so i can buy some slicks for the stock wheels

stock tyre size on 03 STI is 225/45/17
215's do mean the rim sticks out further than the tyre (with potenza g3's anyhoo)

225 will clear front & rear GC8 struts...

on my gc8 wagon the 225 rubbed out the inside edge. It did have a rear camber kit with .-75 camber

205/45/17's dylan...theyre pretty close to the same rolling diameter as the std 205/50/16's that gc8's come with...

225/45/17's that the sti rims come std with are too tall for a gc8...(near 7cm taller than orig fitment 16's, well 3.5cm realistically)

215/40/17's are the correct size to match the 205/50/16's.

215/45/17 from the later model WRX's are slightly bigger rolling diameter.

I have the 40's.

dylan, the 215/45/17's fit on gc8's if you have a set lyin round tho are a tad tall...

How did you get that? 225/40-17 is closest

Rolling diameter
205/50-16 is 192.1cm Stock tyres
225/40-17 is 192.2cm
205/45-17 is 193.6cm

sorry 225/40/17 is closest rolling diameter (i didnt go thru every size tyre made & compare??) not to mention the 225/40/17's are a mongrel size to find & are exxy as, and more than likely be too wide and foul the side of the strut anyway id imagine (rim offset dependant) so the 205/45/17 would be the best suited then imho...
