Why dont we step up to the plate and create something standard so the rest of the community benefits from this.

Maybe i'll start...

1) Use a Hub Dyno?
2) Record Manifold Relative Pressure (corrected against Atmospheric)?
The argument is becoming somewhat circular...most of us are agreeing on the same thing. At the end of the day it's how it is tuned...ie how the craftsman uses the tools he has (ECUTek or Verso for example). Pete, if you think that back to back figures on a hub dyno will get "the data" then by all means do it. My overall point is that a few kilowatts or newton metres here and there make little difference...it's all about driveability, performance and reliability out on the track (ie "results") and the two vehicles I've quoted are good examples of ECUTek tuned cars fulfilling both of those criteria well.

So endeth my input on this subject....

so after the all that, were the prices he got quoted reasonable or not?? that question was never really answered properly!

ps: i reckon you should always get atleast three quotes to compare doesnt matter what you're gonna be buying, patios, car mods, house extentions etc etc

My 2 cents worth, spend a month or 2 on PWRX and Rexnet and pick up a few 2nd hand bargains say intake, zorst bits (even China spec), bang a pump in and a tune and you will have a quick reliable car for under 3K easily, maybe even 2K depending on the tune possibly....
Plenty of workshops will work with you with 2nd hand gear and generally should not run into too many probs.....
