Cruise Control Button - Light Globe?
Hi All,
Last night the globe behind my cruise control button decided to die. Just wondering how to go about replacing it. Is it just a globe or is it a whole button? Anyone done this before? Cheers Josh

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread but thought I'd add my findings and hoping to get feedback from the community.
Cruise Control Button from MY99 Impreza When you remove the button from the dash it will look like this: On the side of the button, there are two globe holders. 1 illuminates when the dash light is on. The other illuminates when the button is activated. Use your nails to screw it out anti-clockwise and it should fall out without too much persuasion: Here's a picture of the globes removed from the button: Here's a close up of the globe: Now the question goes back to the community. Where the hell do I get these globes from? Please don't say wreckers, as I went to the wreckers today and picked up a second hand button hoping the globes would work... the globes were blown also Cheers, Fred ________ Eva_Gold cam Last edited by fffffred; 22-08-2011 at 06:45 PM. |

Do the globes pull out of the plastic surround?

It does, provided you unravel the wires that poke through the plastic holder. It pokes through and around as to make contact with the pin connections on the switch.
It looks like an LED, but isn't. Will try dickies or altronics sometime. Fred ________ LovelyCharlize live Last edited by fffffred; 22-08-2011 at 06:45 PM. |

I got mine at Jaycar, called a dash bulb or similar.
It is slightly bigger than stock but will fit. you will need to strip the wires too as they are plastic coated

Have a look at this link, http://narva.com.au/products/browse/globes.
I'm pretty sure they look like fig.4 (Part no: 47734) any good autoshop or auto electrician should be able to get then in for you if they don't have them on the shelf. Cheers MCL |
