Axis Hiro Wheels - Tempe Tyres

Hi All,

What do you think of these wheels from Tempe, I have heard good and bad stories about this retailer.

Has anyone heard of these wheels and know what quality they are, weight etc.

This car is the exact same as mine....

cheers

I have personally had 2 sets of wheels and tyres from tempe...

No problems at all.. Came well packed and quick (3 days) had the right tyres etc.. come balanced and with wheel nuts..

Now I only use my car for crusing around.. And I have had zero problems with them...

mr_psi 13-12-2006 10:40 PM

what they worth? they look a little tachy at the centre hubs..
what they worth? they look a little tachy at the centre hubs..
The link says $2600.00 with tyres, they used to be about $3000.00 with tyres.

I have been looking at the Work Emotion CR Kai's but have to wait over 8 weeks for them.

cheers

mr_psi 13-12-2006 10:44 PM

yer... cant comment dude.. i kno nothin bout axis.. but for 2600 buks.. i would go some volks

Josh 13-12-2006 11:08 PM

It's $2,600 including tyres so Volks work out MUCH more expensive.

They look nice but they will be heavy!

SiriX 13-12-2006 11:18 PM

Give Scott from Tech9Tyres a call, top bloke... www.tech9tyres.com.au he's in Perth, and a Perth-WRX member!

I've just got some rims from him, well second set from him, he can get pretty much anything that's available from any of the other places (ie. Ozzy/Temp/Big-O/St George) plus his own site has a HEAP of rims on it...

Cheers,

SiriX

WRP10 13-12-2006 11:23 PM

Shit Colbey, was this with the insurance money because if not you go through rims WAY too quickly?

Fozzy 13-12-2006 11:27 PM

I dont mean to bash tech 9... However when rims are the same thing as tempe sells and the ones from tempe are 600 cheaper.. Delivered.. What would you do?

MaD_OwNeD 14-12-2006 06:51 AM

needs a centre cap i reckons to finish it off

IDOLYZ 14-12-2006 09:02 AM

i've used tempe, apart from arrogant staff, they arrived quickly and well packed. will probably buy from again for my new car, as they are the cheapest.

Jimmy S 14-12-2006 10:11 AM

Scott does have these wheels in stock(last time i was there) and i would recommend them fo sho... The prices should not be that different and they will give you warranty and fitting at Tech 9.

STI325V6 14-12-2006 10:50 PM

What about these wheels, geez it's hard trying to choose rims for cars, so many choices out there....

These are a silver finish, Gram Lights.

Could some one photochop these onto the Silver STI in this thread...

cheers

SiriX 14-12-2006 11:44 PM

Adam, sorta kinda, partly, basicly there was a bit of a stuff up in regards to the correct width, ozzy's sent 7 inch width instead of 8 inch, and then they couldnt get the correct width, and anyways long story short, i ended up with these (after a considerable cash adjustment might i add):

Try ordering direct from Perfect Run. Cost me a lot less than buying local and they arrived within 10 days of placing the order.

BALISTC 15-12-2006 04:57 PM

Damn Colbey, that looks mint!!!!

Pig noses with CE28s are starting to grow on me ;)

JMAX 15-12-2006 05:09 PM

WRBlue and gold combo is always a winner. CE28's look massive in gold. They 18's or 19's? Look like 19's

Evo4-140 15-12-2006 06:00 PM

Tech 9

Thanks for the good word guys. Rims look mint Colby. To clarify, Tech 9 is the same prices as what you would pay from Tempe direct. We do not load on their price and we fit the wheels for you.

Fozzy 15-12-2006 06:33 PM

not according to the website it isnt,

I purchased a set of 20 inch Verde Kaos rims in black with khumo tyres , new wheel nuts, balanced etc.. from tempe delivered.. for $2600 so the rims and tyres cost me 2500 + 100 freight

The tech9 site lists them for 3200 bucks..

So I dont see how that works.. Surely fitting them doesnt cost 600 bucks? that would be like 10 hrs labour at 60 bucks an hour..

I dont mean to slag tech9 off in any manner as I know many people have dealt with tham and are happy with the service and follow up etc.... I am usually one for supporting local business but when I can save 600 bucks I tend to do it.

Tech 9

Tempes price is in the following link.

http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_closeup.asp?part=&part_no=915

$2900.00 delivered to your door. We are the same price as them if you had rang to clarify. Tempe only just had the price drop and was ment to put their price back up. Tempe doesn’t bring in the Verde’s and were instructed by the Verde supplier to change their price back to what our price is. Hence why we didn’t change our price on the web.

But to make sure anyone else is clear. We are the same price as tempes, ozzys, talebs, stgeorge, big O, SSW or any rims place in Sydney. We are trying to bring the prices from the Eastern States to WA.

If our web site is different to any other web site please call. It isn’t easy keeping track of what all the other suppliers are retailing the rims for.

We will match any genuine price.

Fozzy 16-12-2006 01:59 PM

well I paid 2600 hundred delivered...

Im not bullshitting.. Have a reciept to prove it.. Sorry I didnt call as I wouldnt have expected you to drop your price by 600 bucks..

Next time I buy a set I will be sure to give you a call first
