I finally got my car tuned by Tim Slako. The car is driving nicely with heaps more useable power, which is great!

Hey Tim(nvrenuf) when Slako tuned your car did he use the Bosch dyno? He used it for mine and it came out with engine KW's and not much other info, like AFR's, boost curve, torque, etc. Its got KW's at the wheels on the graph, though he said to ignore it as it's only used in a calculation and not a true figure.

Anyhow, Slako managed to get 227KW's at the engine out of it. Thats with 3" TBE and pod filter, with max 1.2ish bar of boost. I will post the dyno sheet in here as soon as it's scanned and let you guys do a postmortem, LOL.

I am seriously thinking of getting it dynoed some place else, to get more info...only thing is all dynos are different, so wouldnt be a fair comparison...would it? Hmmmmmm, what do you all think?

Hub dyno or bust i think... but like anything its whatever floats your boat.

Hub dyno seems more consistant then a roller. Can't over strap and fiddle with things as easily (or so im lead to believe).

hey tim slako is very expensive but it all comes down to personal preference but i would seriousley recomend that you go down and see the Maximum Motor Sports Team down in Malaga they have just built a new dyno room down there and i have seen two WRX's on it pretty damn gwd to just givemm a call they are gwd ask for steve, and also you wanted to no about all the other information didn't you?? because my mate in his 98 WRX wagon got his dyno tuned and the print out had all that information on it so yeah good luck

Slako isnt expencive from what iv delt with with but yes he is mainly only unichip option in perth just about. and has been doing them a very long time.

slako recently tuned my forester with a unichip, cost me $550 to start with but came back with only 13psi boost, he chucked in a power run from mms on thier dyno & it got 160rwkw (i have mods like: vf22, 3"tbe, apexi pod, walbro, etc...) i originally asked him to tune it for 17psi, so i was a bit peeved he only set it to 13, i went back there and asked for more, he re-tuned it to 17psi and charged me another $200 but no dyno run this time, mms wanted another $90 so i've just left it at that, anyone know anywhere cheaper for a run? the foz feels heaps better now & i'd say its got around 180rwkw, unfortunately there's not many options for unichips in perth

Hmmm, Slako wouldn't give me a kwatw figure only the engine! Hence the reason fo this post. As fo mms.....hmmmm...no!

Yeah I agree not many options for Unichip in Perth, which is a shame because for what they do, they are pretty good. Althogh Slako does have a wealth of experience, which is a huge plus.
