Isn't it called Hayman Reece. They come out and leave a neat
blanking plate when not in use.

Just buy the genuine Subara hayman reece style tow setup. Easy to install, electrical harness already there behind you rear light assembly, theres a rubber bung near by that you can remove to pass the wiring through. The bar is bolted where your rear bumper mounts, 4 bolts. The only thing you need to do that isn't standard is screw in the wiring to the 7 pin female plug that mounts the tow bar.

ive got the hayman reece on my 06 and just disconnect it when not using it takes about 5 seconds approx price is around the 450 mark had a parkside system on my last years wrx cost about 300 and could take the tongue off with two bolts and both systems have the plugs hidden

I could be wrong but I thought the maximum towing weight especialy on earlier impreza's was next to nothing anyway. A decent size trailer weighs more?????
