Omg Wtf?
|
Bugger, that would have been an expensive bonfire
At least it was just a bugeye :p |
Anyone got marshmellows ;)
|
I read the full story on that.
I think it was on rexnet |
Was on NASOC also, saw it a few months ago.
|
wtf happend there...
|
such a nice car too :(
|
what caused it? dodgey launch control? battery?
|
yeah was on nasoic and then rexnet months ago. I think they still dont know the cause of the fire.
Oh and it wasnt insured either. doh! |
whaaaat..its not insured..feel sorry for whoever owned it....wot a waste of money and time
|
From how the story goes, the guy dragged his mate, pulled up at the next set of lights and it caught fire.
The owner was driving it. |
It's been posted here before too.
I think I posted something along the lines of "Sucked in". |
the worse part is he didnt have any marshmallows...
Edit... whoops I meant insurance! |
I wonder if the heat of the turbo after the drag along with some oil set the header wrap around the turbo on fire and or the silver heat resistant foil behind that... which then set everything else on fire.
|
Yeah no marshmellows!!! :p
All that money spent on the car and he overlooked the basics....  FIRE EXTINGUISHER!!!! Go get one now for cheap insurance everybody. |
1st impression it was a damn nice car....
But WTF happened  I would insured it if i had done those mods on it, feel pitty to the owner :( FIRE EXTINGUISHER FTW~~~ :D |

At least it was just a bugeye :p
:thefinger bugeyes rule! :) |
For those of you who have never heard of Google. Here is the link and story from NAISOC....
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1137262 Nasif asked me to post this up for him as he doesn't have an account right now. "All my HARD WORK, BLOOD, SWEAT, and TEARS into this project...now it all has came to an end. There's not much of an explanation for this, but I guess it all happens for a reason. I never expected this to happen. After I have gotten everything to run just perfect and look at its show standards, the only thing I truly love all goes into flames...suffering and literly balling and crying watching my pride and joy just burn. I tell myself "What did I do?" and "Why do I deserve this?" after over $80,000 of non stop investing it's all gone. I have no idea what caused this, but i do know that God didn't want me to own this car anymore. Everyone is probably going to ask me the same thing and say "Were u racing?" well yess and no... Me and Victor (Owner of JDMAutoHaus) were on our way to the shop following one another and he was in his Red NSX...we both decided to be jerks and race eachother and that was the last of it...As I came to a stop at the red light Victor says he witnissed something ignite in my engine bay and then BOOM! There she went...fire starting in my engine compartment, I had time to make it out before the rest of the car went to burn. All I can do is sit there and watch the car just burn away tearing and thinking in my head that I should burn dead with the car. It just makes the matter worse to just sit here and dwell on it and it was a big learning experience...Now it's time to move on to bigger and better things...For all the Subie owners out there...I'm sorry U have to see this, but now I am letting everyone see what they have been hearing...Farewell to my Golden Lady...*RIP* =( " Before….. Another example of an idiot spending trillions on doing his car up and not putting a couple of grand towards insurance... A lesson for anyone who thinks 'it'll never happen to me'...
Top car, bet it went like the clappers... |

I saw these photos, and was inspired to order a fire extinguisher the same day....thanks Mr Burnt Out Car Man :)
|
Why is the door blue??
|
Cos the car was blue underneath the gold paint.

I remember reading that he has some plans for another huge project dont know if its wrx related tho. I guess if you can afford to blow $80,000 US they reckoned and still havre big plans.... oh well |
Yeah I bought and installed a extinguiser after reading that original story too.

Check out the close proximity of the intercooler pipework to the unprotected positive battery terminal. Possible cause?

Probably 99% of wrx fmic intercooling pipes take that path. And its covered by a red plastic mould. On Cars with that level of mods could literally have been anything. |
polar spec pipework!
