Insurance
Ok, ill be the first to start an insurance thread on the new forums.
Maybe you guys could post up some of your insurance details to stop people starting up numerous topics about it. Include insurance company/broker, your age, amount insured and so on. Could you also please include your suburb, as that has a large part to play in the pricing of your insurance. Last edited by Alex; 08-07-2005 at 05:31 PM. |

Age: 20
Insurer: RAC, full comprehensive. Car: MY99 WRX with exhaust. Full alarm/immobiliser and keypad. Market Value: 25k. Cost: $1700, just below 1k excess if im at fault. Would've been less but my fines were too close to each other or some shit. 2 fines and no accident history Im the main driver, with dad being listed as once a week. Was pretty happy with that, didnt even bother to ring around. Reckon i couldve knocked it down to around 1500 with different company, but family cars/house is all rac, so decided to stay with them. Was really surprised they offered insurance with minimal hassle.. i was under the impression turbo cars to under 25 year olds was a definite no. With my old Onevia, just cars wanted close to 3k full comp, which was almost a third of the cars value, and every other place told me to fuck off. PS. From Rockingham, im sure that added to the cost a bit. Last edited by Alex; 07-07-2005 at 03:12 PM. |

Age: 22
Insurer: HBF, full comprehensive. Car: *Import* twin-turbo 1995 Subaru Legacy Agreed Value: 22K. with 17" wheels, stereo, basic mods Cost: $800, $400 excess i think Notes:No accidents, 1 speeding fines - under the old mans name but i am fully declared as the main driver! This is damn brilliant, as companies like RAC whom i had insurance with decided one year they would no longer insure a twin-turbo import - even with a good record. |

Insurer: Just Cars (and while we are at it, they have been great so far!). Car: Special Edition MY97 WRX Value: 22.5K Cost: $1300. Excess $2300 if im at fault. $3000 if stolen. Full comp with mods listed. Notes: No accidents, 30%NCb, loss of license and many, many speeding fines! Oh no monthly payments either.. Upfront or nothing! Good suburb as well EDIT: Just got my renewal thats due soon. Details changed! Very happy with the premiums and the excesses have dropped. Although the Value isnt ideal, i dont have much of a choice, given my record! Last edited by Mat; 07-07-2005 at 03:34 PM. |
