Insurance Claims

Hey guys n girls

I have a question about insurance claims if an accident is at my fault.

I have just had an accident resulting in hitting another car, I have 3rd party but I am not sure how the insurance work.

Say I have done 3k damage to the other car which they are insured, will my 3rd party insurance need pay for their full repair bill or only their excess? After this I will expect my insurance bill to increase next year?

Cheers everyone

You will pay whatever your excess is. Your insurance company will pay the other party's insurance company whatever it costs to fix their vehicle. If they are not insured they will probably F&^K them around no end but if they aren't insured then they kind of deserve it.

As far as your damage you are S^&T out of luck and will be paying that yourself.

The most you will have to pay towards the other party is your excess unless you have done something for them to knock back the claim such as pissy driving etc... Thats why you have the insurance.

Oh yea. Your going to pay more next year!!!

Thanks man

Don't know if this is true or not, but I have heard of a story where a guy was at fault in an accident which totalled the other car but he only need 2 pay the excess of the other car's insurance and not the whole bill. Without illegal negotiation

You will be pay whatever the excess is listed on YOUR policy.

The other party's insurance company will get a reimbursement from your insurance company for the full cost of the damage.

The other party may or may not have to pay the excess listed on their policy to their insurance company depending on the conditions in their policy. This makes no difference to you.
