Howdy

howdy folks, thought i'd give a quick introduction.

bought my first rex 4 months ago. after planning mods and numerous sleapless nights, i decided to upgrade to an STI. now got an MY06 STI.
im slightly audiophillic. love going on random drives. favourite food is bbq meatlovers pizza with pineapple ( dont know if anyone really wanted to know that?)

Keen as mustard to meet a few other rex drivers for a bit of fun. fairly new to perth, as are most people who are taking advantage of the resources boom..
anyway, just a quick hello...

meat.

Welcome......hope you don't plan on organising any...STi only cruises :D

Catcha around.

muhaha, nah mate, im not that anal. wrx's are probably a wiser choice if your gonna put 30k+ worth of mods into it. But im no mechanic, probably only put a TBE on it and spend the rest of my money on stereo gear and some leather...

congrats on the upgrade to pig sti. Great car and you will have heaps of fun with her. What colour and where did you pick her up from. The MY06 STI is the car I had previously until I traded her in for current Libo in June.

edit: oh and find the search button function here and then search for turbo back exhaust tbe, verso, ecutek, etc. You will find heaps of threads on these for your particular car and avoid making mistakes that some of us pig sti owners made.

welcome mate! enjoy the sti :P

Hey meatbag.. if that really IS your name.
I'm an audiotastic man myself. what are you planning? one of my realistic-dream setups that i'll eventually get is either some high-end focal or rainbow front splits run off the alpine PDX 4-channel i have now (they'd get 650rms clean) and a DD95xx sub run off some sort of DD amp.. not sure what yet but i'd like at least 3k watts going to it. And any alpine HU over the $600 mark will have teh nice features i'd need.

have fun, catcha out there!

lol, no meatbag isn't my real name, but its what all my friends call me. either that or meathead, meatasaurus, meaty, or anything to do with meat really.

i currently have 2 treo engineering 250.2 amps, and an oz audio matrix 12"sub. undecided on exactly what im gonna do, but my current options are:

head unit is going to be an eclipse avn6000

1: use one of the amps for each side for the ultimate in channel seperation and have an endless supply of CLEAN power, run a pair of dyns 362, or oz matrix 380 cs, or maybe morel elate 9's.
and get another oz matrix sub and run it off some huge ass monoblock. DD is coming to mind.

2. my other option is to run the speakers off just one of the amps, and go the single oz matrix sub in a ported box run off the otheramp. Bridged it gives 1000wrms @ 4 ohms which should be plenty.

thats some nice gear your looking at! have you heard the rainbows? i havent been able to find anyone using them, would love to have an audition if you can find someone willing...

3kw into one sub? DD's definetly the way to go for something reliable to handle that sort of power.. Is it for SPL comps or just daily driving?
