Thought I would take time out to look on the web for things REX and was blown away when I stumbled across the Perth site. You guys (& gals) are a mine of information on all things relating to WRX.

I have a late 99 sedan which I bought 4 years ago and have decided to try and tease out a few more horses from under the bonnet. Being an old fart and the wrong side of forty my car tuning days were limited to Mini Coopers (the old ones), Lotus Cortinas and Cosworth Sierras. None of which compare to even a stock WRX . The Sierra was quick in a straight line but has a bad trait of the ass end being quicker than the front when exiting fast corners, Coopers snap ½ shafts when 130bhp is exceeded.

I recently had a 3” mandrel bent SS turbo back system with high flow cat fitted by MMS and saw a sudden increase in power but other than that the car is stock standard.

Hope to see some of you around to pick your brains; you’ll recognise me easily enough. The old bloke in the beige cardigan wearing fluffy slippers smoking a pipe; No not a bong, that’ll be me.

Welcome FarQ. Excelllent choice of vehicle and fine age group. I am the other one dressed like you but with a walking stick, hearing aid and strong glasses. Along with the bad jokes and slop spelling, there is some top class expertize on this site.
