yeah got the car through subi osb pk dealership would you recommend going through with servicing etc there?? It has a 3 year warranty with it vthat came in handy when the radiator went i didnt see any warning lights no noises just hopped out and could smell coolant burning just got genuine subi part for that and didnt have to pay.
But i guess it restricts you to what you want theyll just go for cheaper option.
Do want to get bigger bonnet scoop at some stage and all the other parts im still learning.
Brent - have you had any probs with your alarm pad miine went skitz the other day they reset it and its fine now. Happened in old stn wgn too but it didnt go crazy it just stopped working.

I would get it serviced elsewhere. Not that there is anything wrong with getting it done at a dealer, but there are plenty of specialised workshops who can do it for you cheaper probably too.

Shouldnt affect your warranty i had rear strut replaced even with having springs on it.

For Bonnet scoop consider www.ultrex.com.au

In regards to Brant they can/do go skitz, make sure its had all the recalls done.

There are a few options in Perth re: servicing ur car.

I wouldn't take mine to a dealership (i used to have a bug eye sti too) The idea of some 15yr old apprentice working on my $30k car didnt sit well with me, so I'd rather take it to someone who knows Subaru's well, and I can trust.

There is heaps of info on all the various subaru workshops in Perth in threads on the forum, RMS, ASG, MMS, BlueStar, Xspeed to name a few.

With your warranty, you'd have to find out if servicing it elsewhere will void it? Chances are it would so your probably better off sticking with the car yard, or, scrap the idea of the warranty, as they are for the most part, useless, especially used car ones, and just take the car to someone you trust, especially if ur planning on doing some mods, as that will probably void ur warranty too.

As for the brandt (alarm) they can be a pain in the ass. A few people have had probelms with them, and ripped them out, and replaced with an aftermarket item, ie: Autowatch. I never had any problems personally.

Hey Jess...

Re: Brant.

I know there was some 'issues' with earlier versions of the Brant alarm... Now I just went out and had a look inside my drivers door. Basically you should see 3 or more Field Program stickers for the car, on the door surround, when you open the drivers door.

Of the 3 i have, one is cruise, one looks like it says alarm/s, and the other I cant make out, (shitty handwriting). But, if you know where the work was done, (there will be a dealer code on the sticker as well), you can ring with VIN and enquire.

Sti Ozzy Park should be able to help you out... they have been quite helpful with me on numerous occasions with bits and pieces. (I bought mine from there 3 years ago as well).

Brent.

Nothing wrong with getting your car serviced at a dealer. It's just basic stuff by the book. And I'm sure most of the wrx performance shops in perth will just get their apprentice to do the oil change anyway.

Given that your car is an 02, the warranty will be from the dealer and most likely have a lot of terms and conditions about getting the car serviced there for the warranty to be valid (i.e. its not a manufactures warranty).

Ultimately the decision is yours.
