Welcome mate and enjoy your stay.

Yeah as Kym said just enjoy your car and in no time you'll
find your self in your 06 STi.

Thie thing with insurance even if your off your P's is for an 06 STi
it will prob still be a killer until you hit 27.

There is however a cheaper way of doing it now and not have to
wait that long, get the car insured in your parents name and just
have you as a nominated driver that way the premium will be a
little cheaper and if something happens the excess won't be as much.

Oh and what trade are you doing ?

Funny, I started out exatly the same way (had a MY99RX for a few years, recently got into the 06 STI). Had heaps of fun with the RX, but eventually the turbo-bug bit me hard :P

Good luck with everything, any questions about the RX, mods, etc. just hit us up (I did a bit of work to mine).

Adrian

Well if it is round abouts you want, you are in the perfect area.
I did the air filter and exhaust on mine straight after I got it and other than sounding great it did bugger all, but it was a very nice car when I was 19 and did the job for a few years.

No worries, will help where I can.
I didn't to a heap of electrical stuff to the car, mostly mechanical...what I did different to yourself was intake, exhaust, sway bars, plus a few other things here and there.

If you've got yourself an iPhone, get the iBoost app. Not only does it provide endless lolz, it annoys the shit out of your mates
