MY98 top hose clamp ?

Hi new to the forum but already need help. Drive an XT Forester myself but trying to help daughters boyfriend out with a leaking top radiator hose (engine end) on his MY98 WRX.
He recently had his radiator replaced and new top hose fitted. Hose clamp is barely on the end of the hose and seems to have no clearance to come back further along the hose because of the banjo bolt fitting going into the power steering pump. The flange of the power steering bolt is pressing into the top of the hose is this normal ? Any advice appreciated.

Welcome mate, best off supply a picture so people can have a better idea of what you're talking about.

They usually have a spring type clamp on them to provide contant tension hot or cold. Some people incorrectly assume spring clamps are shit and replace them with a cheap ass worm drive clamp. Which type is it? Usually you can rotate it to to clear everything, you may have to remove the intake tube for access.

Do these spring clamps only have a single use? I have tried re-using before and almost had catastrophic results. I have since replaced some with the worm drive type and have had zero issues since.

I don't see why they would, they're a spring afterall.
The small ones on the 10mm hoses sometimes bend when you compress them but the radiator ones seem ok to reuse.

I have found they don't compress as tight, hence replacing. I also purchased an 8?mm-15mm size for the smaller hoses, worked a treat.
