@Shaun:
Broadband just released it's shitty cap. Registering there now. Thanks. :)

@Westoz:
I'll see what I can squeeze out of him. (no gay intended)

@GX-REX:
Sorry, bro. I wasn't having enough brain food that day. :P
I'd probably go for something past 05. The very same auction I bought my Impreza had an 07 Forester go for aroung $7k-8k, with some hail damage much worse than mine over the the bonnet and roof.

wrxfiend 14-02-2011 05:00 PM

try Kenji/SSS 08 93773222 for a bonnet.

@wrxfriend:
I'll try him out. Thanks.

Impreza GX or WRX?

I own a base model, late 05 (pig nose) Impreza. I managed to get it for $5250 at pickles.
I'd reckon it's the base model :p ...ie the GX.

A WRX of that year would go for at least twice what he paid, even taking into account the damage, IMHO :D

ginkumo12 16-02-2011 06:30 PM

Yeah, it's a GX. 2.0L stock block and all. Stills goes pretty good. Better than any other base model small cars I've driven.

There are quite a few WRXs every now and then going at the auction. Most have some damage from street racing. :P

Though you can still find some decent ones and get them at least at half the price or something.

Nyrex 16-02-2011 08:14 PM

which auction did you pick the car up at? because iam keen to pick up a decent subaru ,as the commdores was becoming old/boring (hope iam still welcome here as i did like the commodores :P) but i have changed my ways for the better.

@Nyrex:
Go to Pickles auctions in Welshpool. Cars range from completely burnt out to a mere few hail dents.

Always check out the listing on the website. Create a list of the cars you like, then do some research on the pricing of their zero damage counterparts. Work out how much it would cost to fix the damage. Try to go for around 1/3 of the price at most for the cars. If you really you really like it, then go for 1/2 price.

I was about to lose the bid at $5000, but then I just said what the hell and dropped on another $250. Best decision ever made.
