Hey mate, welcome :)

are you still on p-plates?

And IMO, although Turbo-back is more expensive, they are definitely worth it! have a look on e-bay and try find some cheap, like monster ones etc

Welcome aboard Nathan and congrats on the peanut.

For exhaust options on the cheap suggest you have a look at JDM Style (Wayne) thread http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/showthread.php?t=38642&page=3

cheers for the advice lads. happy to be in pwrx. and yes i am still on my p's haha but i get them off in 3 months so thats not too bad. Is there anything else i should look for with exhausts. cos i heard that stainless steel ones are the way to go, for the sound and longer lasting?

lucky...i'm on mine for another year :/ sigh...0.00% BAC...

Look, with exhausts, as many members will agree with, a full 3 inch s/steel turbo back exhaust is the way to go, they are better quality, look better and last longer. I have an X-Force on mine, which is fairly decent, all depending on your budget, but a decent system is $1000 + sound is all dependent on the muffler, if you opt for a cannon = loud :D perfect for p-plater :D I am in the process of shipping over a Varex Cannon from New Zealand, which is a remote control cannon...see the link below, its cool, and you can be loud or quiet...anything else, don't hesitate to ask, the search is also very useful :D

Welcome mate, enjoy your stay and nice pick up for your first Rex! :icon_thum

What's your budget for a cat back?

As Dave pointed out I can supply a Cat back system with a titanium muffler, these systems generally sell for around $1500 so $680 (limited time only) is a bargain but ill leave it up to you.

Titanium muffler will last longer than these cheap and inferior Chinese exhausts that are everywhere plus its lighter and gives an awesome sound. :D

Hijack over. :D

Def go S/S Turbo back, you can make up some of the cost by not getting a BOV

+1 you don't need an "aftermarket performance" BOV....

TBE FTW!

JDM_STYLE 22-04-2011 08:51 PM

To get the full benefit of a TBE you should get a tune/flash ($1000/1500) but if you want and increase in power/torque, have boxer rumble and don't want fork out money for a tune then just go cat back, otherwise it'll run rich using extra fuel because the ecu is trying to compensate for the extra air flow from a TBE.

TBE will make more power but not as much without a tune.
