Hi Everyone
 

Hey everyone,

Names Zak. Been on the forums for a while now just browsing the helpful info on here and thought i finally make a profile.

Current car is an 07 sti with few basic mods.. Turbo XS Exhaust system, Cold air intake and tuned by ASG making around 289hp @hubs. Upgraded discs to dba5000xs.

Been down to drags few times and managed to get 12.9 which i will hopefully improve on. Maybe looking to do some track work further down the road.

Future mods will be mainly to improve handling. any suggestions are welcome.

It was after the verso tune, was a very humid night. Was hoping for a 12.6 but did manage a 1.71 60ft..

Have u run similar times?

Going to the plex for the first time next week :)

Mine is pretty much stock though....i've seen videos of guys with stockish setups running flat 13s.....is this a bit far fetched?

Hey Zak, welcome to Perth-WRX. Keep an eye out for my next track day at RAC. Strut brace and sway bars are a great place to start with handling mods.

Yeah I was gonna take mine stock but didn't get a chance. I think 13.3 13.4 is possible but don't think it would go flat 13.. I seen ppl get 13.6 at the plex.

Goodluck next week if I can make it I'll come down and watch would be great to see a good run.

Yeah I was thinking sway bar and strut brace. Any brands you recommend or they pretty much all the same.

Any tips for a first timer?

Its been more than a year since i ran my previous car...its pretty much the same deal right? (Go there, scrutineering, have a few runs, park up and watch others run?)

[B]Whiteline[/B] gear is pretty popular amongst this forum, or if you are keen, speak to Shane ([URL="http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/private.php?do=newpm&u=9881"]xsv4rce[/URL]=) who also has a piggy and just ordered a few [B]Cusco[/B] bits online. If you can splash out the bit extra and can wait for postage, its probably the best way to go!

Thanks for the info mate will send him a message and see how he went with it. Yeah was thinking whiteline and hopefully will notice a difference in handling.

Yeah I went something like 9months ago.. think season might be finishing soon.. Usually Ill wait till it cools down to go for run. But if Theres heaps of ppl sometimes can only get 3 runs all night unless u wait for ppl to clear out a bit after the burnouts usually can get few quick runs in..

I probably won't run next week. I'll come down for the support :)

Yeah as Kymbo said Cusco is the go, if you find some bits you want let me know where from and how much and I'll always do my best to beat the price for you.

Welcome - whiteline or cusco won't really matter but have a look at Mitchwnz thread for boat like images as to why decent sway bars are a necessity :p
